FoFo Adventures

Plain-language draft, pending lawyer review. The final version may change; we'll say so here when it does.

Terms

How the site works and what it doesn't do. The agreements you sign for each trip sit alongside these.

What this site is

adventure.fofo.dev helps people host and join small group trips: the trip page, applications, verification, signed agreements, the itinerary, a shared money ledger, a feed, check-ins and vouches.

You need to be 21 or older, and to use your own account with accurate information.

The host's role

Anyone Verified with FFN can publish a trip. The host plans it, reviews applications, decides who joins, records the video calls and reference checks, and keeps the agreements, itinerary, bookings and ledger up to date.

The host completes the same verification as everyone else and shows the same badge. Accepting, declining or waitlisting an application is the host's decision.

The site can unpublish a trip page that breaks these terms.

No booking or payments in the app

Nothing is booked through this site. It links out, and people book for themselves; the site keeps the links, costs and cancel-by dates so nobody misses a deadline.

The site doesn't process payments or hold money. The money ledger records who has paid what; money moves between people directly, through whatever they already use.

Every trip has a code of conduct

Everyone on a trip, the host included, agrees to that trip's code of conduct. It's linked from the trip page. Breaking it can mean leaving the group space or the trip.

Concerns about another person go privately to the host. They are never published and never become a badge or credential.

Not an emergency service

Check-ins and SOS alert the people you choose: your trusted contacts and the group. Nobody monitors them around the clock, and they can be delayed or fail without signal or battery. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) first.

No guarantee of safety

Travel carries real risks. The site and each host offer transparency (who you are traveling with and what was checked about them), not a promise that anyone or anything is safe.

A badge shows that a specific check happened. It is not a judgment of character. You make your own decisions, and you keep your own way home. Read the no-safety-guarantee statement

Your posts and media

What you post is yours. You let the site store it and show it to the audience you pick for each post. Posts showing another member need their approval before going public.

A trip's media agreement, signed in its group space, covers footage of other members and what happens if it earns money.

Changes

When an agreement changes, it gets a new version and you're asked to read and sign it again. Changes to these terms are posted on this page.
